Shanlianglishi Fm
Type Locality and Naming
The type section lies 2 km east of Shuangjingzi, Xinjiang. It was named by the Xinjiang Petroleum Admiration in 1958.
Lithology and Thickness
Conglomerate to Claystone. At Shuangjingzi it is dominated by gray-yellow and gray-green conglomerate, sandstone-conglomerate and pebbly grit, intercalated with sandstone, siltstone, shale and coal streaks, thickness varying 700−1600 m.
The lithology and thickness vary greatly: In the area of Zhangpenggou in the northwestern part it is dominated by yellow-green tuffaceous conglomerate, tuffaceous sandstone and minor acid-basic volcanic rock and lava, incompletely exposed, and 500−3000 m. In the Dishuiquan area, the rocks become finer in grain size, consisting mainly of purple-red mudstone and tuffaceous siltstone, intercalated with carbonaceous mudstone and coal streaks, thickness >800 m.
